What we collect, why, and what you can do about it
Effective date: August 23, 2026 Fuego Noir is a brand of The JuJu Collective LLC, based in Austin, Texas. This policy explains what we collect when you visit fuegonoir.com, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We wrote it in plain English on purpose. The short version: we collect your email if you give it to us, we look at anonymous traffic numbers so we know what's working, and we earn a small commission if you buy something through a link we recommend. We don't sell your information to anyone.
Who's behind Fuego Noir?
We're a small Austin-based brand built by a social dancer, The JuJu Collective, for salseras and salseros who want gear that moves.
Everything we hold, and everyone who touches it
What you give us directly. When you join our email list, we collect your email address and your first name if you provide it. We use Kit (formerly ConvertKit) to manage that list. When you use our contact form, we collect your name, email address, phone number if you choose to give one, your primary dance style, your usual size range, and whatever you write in the message. The style and size answers help us design and stock the right things — that's the only reason we ask. Your phone number is optional. If you give it, we use it to answer your specific question. We do not add phone numbers to a marketing text list, and we will not text you promotions without asking you first. What we collect automatically. When you visit the site, our platform and analytics tools record standard technical information: IP address, browser and device type, which pages you viewed, how long you stayed, and what site or search sent you here. This is aggregate traffic data. We use it to see which pages are useful. We are not trying to identify you personally, and we don't. Cookies. Essential cookies keep the site working — page loading, form submissions, security. Analytics cookies count visits and tell us which pages get read. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time; blocking analytics cookies won't break anything. We do not use cookies to build advertising profiles or to follow you across other websites. How we use it. To send you the emails you signed up for, answer your questions, understand what dancers need, improve the site, and meet our legal and tax obligations. That's the whole list. Who we share it with. Only the service providers that make the site run, and only as much as they need: Durable hosts our website and receives contact form submissions; Kit manages our email list and holds your email address and name; Amazon's affiliate program sends us anonymous click and commission data. We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or if it's necessary to protect someone's safety. How long we keep it. Email list: until you unsubscribe, plus a short suppression record so we don't accidentally re-add you. Contact form messages and email conversations: up to 3 years. Analytics: aggregate data, typically up to 26 months. Ask us to delete sooner and we will, unless we're legally required to keep it. What we never do. We do not sell your personal information — not to advertisers, not to data brokers, not to anyone. We do not rent or trade our email list. We do not share your information with third parties for their own marketing, and we do not run retargeting ads that follow you around the internet. If that ever changes, we'll update this policy and tell our email list before it takes effect.
Straight talk about how we make money
Fuego Noir participates in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases. Here's what that means in practice. On our Approved page and in some of our content, we link to products we've personally vetted. If you click one of those links and buy something, Amazon pays us a small commission. The price you pay is exactly the same. It costs you nothing extra. We may also work with other affiliate programs and brand partners over time. Any page or post containing affiliate links is marked as such. What we will not do: recommend a product we wouldn't use ourselves, or let a commission rate decide what makes the list. Every product on our Approved page has to pass the same test — does it actually hold up on a dance floor. If it doesn't, it isn't there, no matter what it pays. When you click an affiliate link, the destination site sets its own cookies and collects its own information under its own privacy policy. We don't control that, and we never receive your order detail
Your information is yours. Here's how to take it back.
Unsubscribe any time. Every email we send has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. One click, done — no guilt trip and no "are you sure" gauntlet. Ask us what we have. Email hello@fuegonoir.com and we'll tell you what information we hold about you. Ask us to delete it, or to correct it. Same address. We'll confirm when it's done. Depending on where you live, you may have additional legal rights — including under the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act, the California Consumer Privacy Act, and the EU and UK GDPR. Those can include the right to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your data, and the right to opt out of targeted advertising or the sale of personal data. We don't do targeted advertising and we don't sell data, but the other rights apply, and we honor them for everyone regardless of where they live. To exercise any of these, email hello@fuegonoir.com with "Privacy Request" in the subject line. We respond within 30 days. We will never charge you or make you jump through hoops for asking, and we won't treat you differently for exercising a right. Do Not Track. Some browsers send a "Do Not Track" signal. There's no industry standard for honoring it, so we don't respond to it specifically — but since we don't track you across sites or run behavioral advertising, the practical result is the same. Children. Fuego Noir is not directed to children, and we don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we'll delete it. Security. We use reputable providers with standard protections, and the site is served over encrypted HTTPS. We limit who can access your information to the people who need it. That said, no method of transmitting or storing data online is completely secure, and anyone who tells you otherwise is selling something. We do our part and we won't overpromise.
Reach us, and what happens when this changes
Questions, requests, or concerns about your privacy go to hello@fuegonoir.com. For a formal privacy request, put "Privacy Request" in the subject line. Links to other sites. Our site links out to retailers, partners, dance studios, and event pages. Once you leave fuegonoir.com, this policy no longer applies — those sites have their own, and they're worth reading. Changes to this policy. We'll update this page as the business grows. When we make a meaningful change, we'll update the effective date and notify our email list. Fuego Noir Social App Privacy
Fuego Noir Social is our free mobile app for finding Latin dance nights, published by The JuJu Collective, LLC in Austin, Texas. When you create an account we collect your name, email and a password — passwords are stored hashed, never in plain text, and your login stays in your phone's secure storage. We record the events you save so your list is waiting when you come back. If you submit an event or apply as a promoter, we keep the details and contact information you give us, and a moderator reviews it before anyone else sees it. If you add a photo, the app uses your phone's built-in photo picker, so we only ever receive the one picture you choose — the app never asks for access to your photo library and cannot browse or scan it. If you choose "take a photo," it asks for the camera at that moment and receives only that shot. Anything you send through the in-app feedback form reaches us with the account it came from. We use all of this to run your account, show you events, publish submissions, answer you, and send the alerts you asked for. That is the whole list. The app collects no location data — it has no GPS capability at all, and discovery is based on the city you pick, never on where you are. No ads, no ad networks, no advertising IDs. No third-party analytics or tracking of any kind. No payments in the app; "Shop Fuego Noir" opens our storefront in your browser under its own terms. No contacts. No microphone. We never sell or rent your personal information, and we share data only with the providers who host the app and deliver our email, plus where the law requires it. To delete your account, email hello@fuegonoir.com from your account address with the subject "Delete my account." We confirm by email once it is done, and we delete your account record, saved events, uploaded images and profile within 30 days, except where we are legally required to keep something. Depending on where you live you may also have the right to see, correct or export what we hold — same address, and we will not treat you differently for asking. Fuego Noir Social is made for adults and is not directed to children under 13; many listed events are at 18+ or 21+ venues. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13 and delete it if we learn we have. We use encrypted connections, hashed passwords and your device's secure storage, and we will notify you as the law requires if something goes wrong. This policy is effective September 8, 2026 and covers both fuegonoir.com and the Fuego Noir Social mobile app for Android and iOS.
